Anti-Wrinkle Injections

These are the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the world as non-invasive, non-surgical and quick.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers are the most natural way of smoothing out lines and replacing lost volume, restoring your youthful appearance. This is because they are made from a sugar that is naturally found in the human body that we lose as part of the aging process.

How do they work?

Anti-Wrinkle injections are for specific facial muscles. They relax the muscles that cause expression lines/wrinkles. They work by temporarily blocking the nerve impulse to the muscles, resulting in their relaxation. They are suitable for both adult women and men between ages of 20 to 65 who wish to reduce wrinkles and smooth expression lines.

Dermal Fillers when injected under the facial skin, can smooth out lines and replace volume lost, thereby restoring the face’s youthful appearance. Dermal Filler injections are the second (first being Anti-Wrinkle injections) most commonly performed cosmetic procedure. They are non-surgical, quick and with very little down time.

At this clinic, Anti-Wrinkle injections and Dermal Filler injections are performed by an experienced and qualified doctor onsite who has undergone training.

FAQs

Anti-Wrinkle Injections

What areas are Anti-Wrinkle injections most commonly used for?

They are most commonly used to treat frown lines, forehead lines and crows’ feet around the eyes which develop as a result of years of muscle actions like frowning, squinting and laughing. They can also be used to reduce excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of armpits, palms and feet, to slim/shape square jawline (masseter hypertrophy), to reduce teeth grinding (bruxism), headaches, to smooth out smokers’ lines around the mouth and dimpled chin, to lift down-turning mouth corners, to shape eyebrows and jawline (Nefertiti lift), to reduce bunny lines on the nose and gummy smiles.

What are their side effects?

Side effects are usually temporary and localised to the areas of injection.  It is normal to have tiny mosquito bite marks in the treated areas immediately after treatment, however, they usually resolve within 20 minutes.

What does treatment with Anti-Wrinkle injections involve?

Treatment involves having a small number of small injections in the target facial muscles.  As the needles used are extremely fine and the volumes injected are very small, discomfort is typically minimal and brief, and generally well tolerated. The treatment generally takes about 20-30 minutes.

How long will it take for the results to take effect and how long will they last?

Anti-wrinkle injections take effect within three days of treatment, peaking at two weeks. They usually last for about three to four months, but results may last longer with subsequent treatments.

Can Anti-Wrinkle injections and Dermal Fillers be used together?

Yes, in fact, they will complement and prolong each others immediate, and lasting effect.

Is there anything I need to pay attention to prior to having Anti-Wrinkle injections?

Ensure you stop Aspirin, Nurofen or other anti-inflammatory medications (as they increase the risk of bleeding and bruising) for one week prior to injection, if medically safe to do so.  Avoid heavy make-up on the day of injections.

What will I look like if I decide not to have another treatment?

If you decide not to have another treatment, your skin will return to its natural pre treatment condition.

What does treatment with Dermal Filler involve?

At this clinic, we only use TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) approved products that come pre-incorporated with local anaesthetics, thereby reducing discomfort to a minimum. How long will it be for the results to take effect and how long will they last?

The results are immediate. They can last from 6 to 12 months, depending on the product used and the area treated. With subsequent treatments, results can last up to 18 months.
